NHAI signs 3 pacts for 4-laning highways

THE National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has signed three concession agreements for four-laning about 200 km of highways in Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh on a BOT (build operate transfer) basis.

The agreement to four-lane the 100-km Vadape-Gonde section of NH-3 in Maharashtra was signed here on Friday by NHAI with Mumbai Nasik Expressway Ltd. Expected to be completed within 36 months at a cost of Rs 579 crore, the agreement involves a grant of Rs 80.04 crore during concession period of 20 years (including construction period of 3 years), said a release.

The NHAI has also signed two concession agreements for four-laning highway projects, one each in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The agreement for four-laning the 57-km long Bharatpur-Mahua Section of NH-11 in Rajasthan, signed with Madhucon-SREI Consortium on BOT basis, is expected to be completed in 30 months at a cost of nearly Rs 250 crore. It involves a grant of Rs 61.93 crore during a concession period of 25 years. The agreement on the 45-km long Raipur-Aurang section of NH-6 in Chhattisgarh has been signed with Raipur Expressways Ltd. This section is expected to be completed in 30 months and the total project cost is Rs 190 crore.
