Emerson Network to launch `next gen' UPS systems

Pratap Ravindran

Pune , Oct 17

EMERSON Network Power (India) Pvt Ltd, a front-runner in the enterprise and SMB UPS and precision air conditioners segment and currently the only company in the country with solutions for both power and air, is launching several "next gen" products designed to suit Indian power conditions.

Mr Shrikant Bapat, Senior Vice-President of the company, told Business Line that the products had increased functionalities in the areas of performance and serviceability for critical applications.

He added that Emerson India's R&D team, in tandem with the global engineering team, plays an important role in the development of global products for the company.

The new products include:

  • Liebert NXa: True-online double conversion UPS with digital control technology, invisible rectifier vector controlled inverter scalability and redundancy improved battery management;

  • Liebert Super 400 D: India's first DSP based single phase UPS system with unity power factor paralleling capability, wider input range reverse phase sequence operation and IGBT rectifier and inverter; and

  • Liebert PeX: A next generation environmental control system for critical IT and telecom systems with an in-system programming feature and superior serviceability.

    According to Mr Bapat, most vendors believe that the UPS market is going to grow by at least 25 per cent in volume terms and by 10 to 15 per cent in value terms. A part of the decrease in value is because of the zero customs duty regime for IT products.

    He observed that, as the networked economy grows in India, the dependence on reliable uptime solutions would grow correspondingly.

    Further, SME segments are also becoming increasingly IT-savvy and network-dependent. "These trends are resulting in a higher dependence on UPS and power protection solutions."

    Emerson Network Power (India) Pvt Ltd has recently forayed into the SOHO segment with the launch of ITON series UPS systems 600 VA & 1000 VA.
