Chennai , Oct. 17

BELL Granito Ceramic Ltd (BGCL), the Baroda-based vitrified tiles company, today announced the opening of its first showroom in the city, named `Marbo Granit Shoppe'.

The showroom is the second of BGCL's retail outlets in South India, the first being in Hyderabad.

BGCL plans to open eight outlets in the South.

Mr B.G. Vyas, Vice President - Marketing, BGCL, said, "We are opening retail showrooms across the country to widen our existing network. We locate retail outlets in prime areas for the convenience of customers."

The retail outlets would enable the company to stay ahead of the competition in a market that is growing at an average of 25 per cent every year.

Some of the projects that BGCL have undertaken in the past include the Chennai airport, Infosys, Wipro and Polaris. Mr Sarat Chandak, Assistant General Manager - Marketing, BGCL, said that the IT and BPO boom in the South has made it a potentially good market for vitrified tiles, as BPO offices form a significant portion of BGCL's customer base.
