An octagonal cistern belonging to the early Qutab Shahi period was recently discovered at the Golconda Fort when the Archaeological Survey of India undertook excavation work. The 500-year-old cistern is situated near the Taramati Mosque in the fort. Objects found during excavations are kept at the site.
