Eveready posts 10% rise in turnover

EVEREADY Industries India Ltd, the flagship company of the B.M. Khaitan Group, has registered a 10 per cent growth in its turnover in the first half of the current fiscal, compared to the corresponding half of the previous year.

Gross sales of the company increased to Rs 426.74 crore from Rs 389.70 crore.

Similarly, net sales increased to Rs 378.28 crore from Rs 340.73 crore.

Other income jumped to Rs 21 crore from a meagre Rs 1.06 crore.

The company recorded a profit before tax of Rs 33.38 crore in the first half of 2005-06 against a loss before tax of Rs 1.27 crore in the first half of 2004-05.

Net profit jumped to Rs 28.79 crore from Rs 34.12 lakh.
