Telecommunications Ratan Tata to head Tata Teleservices Our Bureau
Mumbai , Oct. 18 MR Ratan Tata is taking over as the Chairman of Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL), pan-India telephony access provider offering both fixed line and mobile services based on CDMA technology. The board of directors of TTSL on Tuesday accepted the resignation of the current Chairman, Mr Firdose Vandrevala. The board invited the Group Chairman, Mr Tata, to assume the role of Chairman of TTSL "at this important point in its growth," said a news release from the company. Tata Teleservices has a listed subsidiary in Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra Ltd).
