Kolkata, Oct. 19

On Wednesday, Exim Bank signed a memorandum of cooperation with United Bank of India. The agreement provides for a collaboration on exchange of information, sharing expertise in settlement of payments, providing advisory services, etc.

The memorandum, said Mr P. K. Gupta, CMD of UBI, will boost the Kolkata-based bank's efforts at increasing the foreign exchange business. "We have set a higher target this year," he told newspersons.

Mr S. Sridhar, Executive Director of Exim Bank, maintained that Exim Bank is in talks with two other banks for similar partnerships.
