DMRC to be consultant for Kochi Metro Rail Project

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government on Wednesday decided to appoint the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as the prime consultant for the Kochi Metro Rail Project and invite expression of interest from companies for execution of the project.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, and attended by the Finance Minister, Mr Vakkom Purushothaman, and the Minister for Water Resources, Mr Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.

An empowered committee will be formed with the Chief Secretary as Chairman with a mandate to speeding up the implementation of the Project.
