AP allots 100 acres to Wipro

Hyderabad , Oct. 20

THE State Government on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Wipro allotting it 100 acres at Gopannapally on the city outskirts and seven acres of land in Visakhapatnam for expansion.

According to an official release, the MoU was signed by the State Information Technology Secretary, Ms Ratna Prabha, and the Wipro Chief Operating Officer, Dr A.L. Rao, in the presence of the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Wipro now operates in Hyderabad from Madhapur and Manikonda.

The Wipro Chairman, Dr Azim Premji, thanked the Chief Minister over phone for the cooperation being extended by the State Government and also importance being accorded by the Government to IT/IT Enabled Services (ITES), particularly to the Wipro family.
