Hyderabad, Oct. 20

DELL Inc, the $53-billion information technology major, has announced the opening of its global development centre (GDC) in Hyderabad, its second in India.

The Dell Vice-President, Information Technology, Ms Laverne H. Council, inaugurated the centre. Apart from India, the company has GDCs in Brazil and Russia.

Dell's GDCs have made important contributions to many of the company's mission-critical systems, from e-business and manufacturing to inventory management and supply chain.

Following the company's success in Bangalore, Dell opened a second customer contact centre in Hyderabad in March 2003. Dell's third customer contact centre was launched in Chandigarh early this year.
