Tata AIG premium income up 84% in H1

TATA AIG Life Insurance has reported an increase of 84 per cent in total premium income at Rs 355.50 crore for the half yearly period ending September 30, 2005 against Rs 193.43 crore for the corresponding period in the previous year.

The first year premium income has shown an increase of 68 per cent to Rs 189.25 crore, from Rs 112.3 crore for the same period.

The company has increased its agency force by 6,000 to touch over 35,000. Premium from alternate channels has grown by 187 per cent.
