Internet Marketing - New Products & Services Opera browser in Hindi, Punjabi Our Bureau
Kochi , Oct. 21 OPERA Software, the Norway-based company behind the Opera Internet browser, has introduced Hindi and Punjabi versions of its browser, aimed at reaching out to non-English speaking Net users. "The Web must become more accessible to people wherever they live and whatever language they speak," said Mr Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "Browser companies bear responsibility for allowing all people to access this amazing resource. "Barriers such as language make the Internet less of a global resource than it could be. Opera is taking this step towards removing those barriers," Mr Tetzchner said in an e-mail. The browser is available for Windows and Linux download at http://www.opera.com/download. In the Hindi and Punjabi versions of the browser, all the buttons and menu bars are in these languages. Opera said having the interface in the user's own language would bring a level of comfort and command to them while being online.
