JBF Ind net up at Rs 10 cr

Our Bureau

MUMBAI: JBF Industries has recorded a net profit of Rs 10 crore for the second quarter ended September 2005 against Rs 8.06 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.

In the quarter under review, profit before tax went up to Rs 18.01 crore (Rs 14.80 crore), while interest charges dropped to Rs 2.70 crore (Rs 3.99 crore).

The company said the net profit has risen in spite of a reduction in net turnover to Rs 208.74 crore (Rs 228.37 crore) in the second quarter. The drop in turnover was attributed to a fall in prices. The company operated at over 95 per cent capacity through the year, it said.
