Mediterranean to launch new service connecting India

MEDITERRANEAN Shipping Company (MSC) is to launch a weekly service shortly connecting India with East Asia, Pakistan and West Asia.

The company will deploy six 2500-TEU capacity vessels on the service and the maiden voyage will be from Shanghai on November 5 with the vessel, MSC Hobart, according to shipping industry sources.

The port rotation will be: Shanghai-Ningbo-Chiwan- Singapore-Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal- Jebel Ali-Dammam-Bandar Abbas-Muscat-Port Qasim (Pakistan)-Belwan-Port Klang-Singapore.

MSC launched in June a new service from India to Chinese ports, throwing open to Indian exports several destinations in East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the US, South America, Indian Ocean Islands and South Africa.

The liner also operates direct services from India's West coast to Europe and Africa.
