United Phosphorus net rises 70 pc

MUMBAI: United Phosphorus Ltd has posted a 69.8 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 12.72 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, compared with Rs 7.49 crore in the year-ago period. The total income (net of excise duty and rebates and discounts) increased to Rs 293.67 crore (Rs 249.74 crore).

The company in its consolidated operations posted a net profit of Rs 47.15 crore (Rs 31.25 crore). The total income increased to Rs 438.09 crore from Rs 357.13 crore.

Shares of United Phosphorus ended Monday at Rs 194.70 against the previous close of Rs 195.40 on the BSE.
