PHILIPS Electronics India Ltd (PEIL) is bullish on the rapidly growing segments of the consumer electronics market such as real flat and large screen TVs, DVDs and home theatres and expects to record a growth of over 50 per cent in its sales volumes during the current year.

Addressing newspersons here on Tuesday, the PEIL Brand Manager, Mr Mrugesh Gaglani, said the company has come out with a large suite of products in all the three fastest growing categories of the market. As against a sales turnover of Rs 980 crore reported during last year, PEIL expects to post a sales volume of Rs 1,500 crore this year.

At present, CTVs contribute around 50 per cent of PEIL's sales, while audios account for around 45 per cent and the balance five per cent comes from monitors. The company expects to further consolidate its leadership position in audios and fourth position in the CTVs market while increasing the market share in CTVs to around 12 per cent from the existing eight per cent, Mr Gaglani said.

According to him, the company has introduced an unmatched range of products backed by superior design and technology and a sound distribution and after-sales service network across the country.
