Gitex IT show in Hyderabad

TO showcase the State as an investment destination, the State Government, in association with the Dubai World Trade Centre, has announced that `Gitex Hyderabad IT Exhibition' would be held at the Hitex International Exhibition Centre from January 11 to 13.

Addressing newspersons here on Monday, the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, said the scope of the event has expanded with the IT and communication industry in the country recognising Gitex Hyderabad as an exclusive trade show.

Accordingly, the State Government has renamed the fifth edition of the exhibition as Gitex India-2006.

Having drawn 110 exhibitors in its last edition, Gitex India expects a growth of 20 per cent this time. About 140 exhibitors and around 15,000 visitors are expected during the three-day event.

According to officials, parallel conferences are being organised by industry associations.

The industry bodies that are planning to organise events include Nasscom, Hyderabad Software Exporters Association, the Confederation of Indian Industry, The Indus Entrepreneurs and the Confederation of Women Entre- preneurs.
