Airlines Flights to resume from today at Vizag Our Bureau
Visakhapatnam , Oct. 26 FLIGHTS are to be restored from Visakhapatnam airport from Thursday, according to authorities. Both Indian Airlines and Air Deccan are planning to operate flights. Water has receded from the runway and the operational area and the systems have been restored, though not fully, to operate the flights, it is stated. Floodwaters from Meghadrigedda reservoir, one of the drinking water sources to the city, inundated the airport and resulted in closure of airport for nearly two weeks. A plan has been prepared at a cost of Rs 40 crore to prevent the flooding of the airport. The airport expansion work has also been hit and it may be delayed due to the inundation.
