Mumbai , Oct. 26

FCB-ULKA HealthCare has bagged the account of Abbott Pharma's flagship brands, Brufen and Digene. The agency has also bagged Johnson & Johnson's suture brand, Vicryl.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Satish Ramachandran, General Manager, FCB-Ulka, said the agency would be taking care of the entire communication activities of these brands as well as strategising.

"We have a huge bank of knowledge developed locally, in addition to having access to a large international learning base from the worldwide parent organisation. The agency has developed its own five-step process for pharmaceutical brands."

He added: "These are time-proven processes starting with immersion in a brand's attributes, which enables the agency to uncover the key insights that drive the positioning of the brand, the brand's personality development, and the ultimate campaign creation."

Mr Ramachandran, however, refused to disclose the exact size of the business.

"The accounts are huge and therefore, substantially big."

It is for the first time that both Abbott Pharma and Johnson & Johnson have hired an advertising agency for these brands, and Mr Ramachandran said that the communication activities would focus on reaching the doctor community.

"We will devise doctoral contact programmes and communication strategies to further strengthen the brand and increase the market share."

These accounts have reportedly come at a time when the agency was awarded the HealthCare Agency of the Year Award, in addition to the Doctor's Choice Award.
