Announcements L&T bags Rs 1,600-cr worth orders Our Bureau
Mumbai , Oct. 27 LARSEN & Toubro has won several major construction orders together valued at Rs 1,600 crore, a news release from the company said. Two of the orders are for road projects and another is a letter of intent for construction of a passenger terminal building at the Hyderabad airport. The two road projects are based on build-operate-transfer arrangement in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh from the National Highways Authority of India, and are worth Rs 900 crore. In Tamil Nadu, L&T would be upgrading a crucial link in the Salem-Bangalore section of National Highway 7. The project is valued at Rs 525 crore. L&T will operate and maintain the sections from km 156 to km 163 for 20 years. In Mehaboobnagar district of Andhra Pradesh, L&T will be engaged in the four-laning of a stretch from Jadcherla to Kottakota. The project is estimated to be worth Rs 370 crore. The concession period of 20 years is inclusive of the construction period of 30 months in both projects. L&T will complete these projects within two-and-a-half years and subsequently operate them on real toll basis at rates specified by NHAI for the specified concession period.
