Our Bureau

KOCHI: The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, is organising Opus '05, the annual Operations Management seminar on Saturday, which will focus on key contemporary trends in manufacturing intelligence, project management, supply chain management, six-sigma, lean manufacturing, logistics and distribution management.

The event, which is sponsored by Take Solutions, has Business Line as the print media partner and CII Institute of Logistics as knowledge partner.

The theme of the seminar is `Indian Industry at Crossroad: 100 years after Industrial Revolution.' The seminar is set in the backdrop of the new challenges ushered in by globalisation on Indian companies. There is fierce competition in the market place, not only from local players but also from multinationals.

To retain the existing market share and to grow in such competitive business environment, the companies will necessarily have to respond to the urgent needs of improving the quality of the product, competitive pricing and quicker response to change.
