HYDERABAD: With the Right to Information Act, 2005 coming into force with effect from October 13, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) has designated its Executive Director (Administration), Ms V. Vedakumari, as its `Central Public Information Officer'.

In a notice issued here on Thursday, the IRDA Chairman, Mr C.S. Rao, said the IRDA Member, Mr C.R. Muralidharan, has been designated as the `Appellate Authority' to discharge the functions assigned under the Right to Information Act. This will be in addition to their normal duties, the notice said.
