Bullish trend in rubber continues

THE week ended with a spurt in spot rubber prices. The uptrend was led by speculative buying from traders amidst low supply. Covering groups and purchase agents continued to support the market as the reports from the domestic futures were also positive.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 66 against Rs 65.50 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi.

On NMCE, the November contract was quoted at Rs 67.50 ( 66.82), December at Rs 64.75 (64.37), January at Rs 65.00 ( 64.54) and February at Rs 65.00 (64.59) per kg for RSS 4.

On MCX, the November contract closed at Rs 67.05 against Rs 66.52 a kg on Friday.

Physical rates Rs a kg were: RSS-4: 66 (65.50); RSS-5: 63.50 (63); ungraded: 61.50 (61); ISNR 20: 63.25 (63); and latex 60% : 43 (42.50).
