New Delhi , Oct. 29

NESTLE India Ltd has reported a 8.3 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 74.59 crore for the third quarter ended September 30, 2005, against Rs 68.85 crore for the same period last year.

Total income increased 11.95 per cent to Rs 630.48 crore from Rs 563.16 crore, the company said in a release here.

"Our performance during the quarter and in the nine months of 2005 is good and shows that we are on the right track. I am confident that with the initiatives in place we will continue to record sustainable growth," the Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Martial Holland, said in the release. The company has reported a 14.1 per cent increase in net domestic sales during the three-month period on account of "higher volume and favourable product mix, coupled with selective price increases."
