Havell's India net zooms

NEW DELHI: Power distribution equipment firm Havell's India Ltd has reported a 154.02-per cent increase in net profit at Rs 14.53 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2005, compared to Rs 5.72 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The sales grew 60.23 per cent to Rs 255.02 crore (Rs 159.16 crore), according to a company release.

The company clocked a 111-per cent increase in operating profit at Rs 22.64 croreas against Rs 10.75 crore last year due to the onset of benefit realisation from the company's new plant at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, the release said.

The company's board of directors ratified the decision to merge Crabtree India Ltd with Havell's. According to the deal, the board has allowed the swap of 100 shares of Havell's for every 246 shares of Crabtree.
