SPG Media PLC, a UK-based publicly traded company, has firmed up plans to expand its development cum knowledge management centre based in Hyderabad to support its global clientele.

Addressing a press conference here, the Chief executive Officer of SPG Media, Mr Steve Nicholson, said, "SPG launched its operations about two years ago and has since grown to a profitable centre."

"The growing knowledge process outsourcing services will move SPG into new markets by providing customers valuable industry intelligence, customer data and market trend information. The company plans to invest in editorial team and expand other support resources," he explained.

What started as a small Web-based service has rapidly expanded to provide print, events and Web products to both Indian and international corporations. The company has released two publications so far - Pharma Focus Asia and Asian Hospital and plans to add four more during 2006.

The company's current publications are distributed to 10,000 senior Indian and Asian executives and help them with specific inputs.

Though these are currently offered for free, the company expects to make it subscription-based by 2007. The group is in the process of launching a search engine for specific industries called Q-Mina.
