Our Bureau

MUMBAI: Idea Cellular, owned by the Aditya Birla Group and the Tata Group, is expected to invest Rs 1,100-1,200 crore this fiscal primarily in network expansion.

"Idea would invest in network expansion in its existing eight circles and in aggressive expansion of three new circles," said Mr Sanjeev Aga, Managing Director, Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd (earlier known as Indian Rayon and Industries Ltd).

Idea's three new circles are Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh (West).

Idea would also refinance its outstanding debt. Idea has a combination of long- and short-term debt amounting to Rs 4,000 crore.
