GoAir first commercial flight likely to take off on Friday

GOAIR, the low-cost carrier promoted by The Wadia Group, took its first maiden flight to Goa from here on Saturday. The first commercial flight of the airline is expected to take off on Friday.

The airline was inaugurated by the Agriculture Minister, Mr Sharad Pawar, and the Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Praful Patel.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Patel said the arrival of a number of low-cost carriers in the last year reflected the positive outlook for the aviation industry.
