General Insurance General insurance officers seek early wage pact Our Bureau
Kochi , Oct. 31 THE General Insurance Officers All India Association has asked the Union Government to implement the much-delayed wage revision without further delay. Even though in LIC, the new wage structure was gazetted on September 5, in general insurance it is getting delayed due to the dispute on the transfer mobility policy of Class III employees, a press release from the association has said. The wage revision was due from August 2002 onwards. After the joint struggle of officers and employees, the General Insurance Public Sector Association , the management body of the four PSU general insurance companies, started negotiations and came to a consensus during the discussions held at Hyderabad, in July last. But both the employees unions and the management have remained adamant on the TMP of Class III employees and the implementation of the wage revision has not moved forward. The management has called all Class II unions for discussions on November 2 in New Delhi to sort out the transfer issue, the release said.
