NEW DELHI: Arrivals of onion at Azadpur, the main vegetable market of the national capital, have picked up in the last few days, resulting in a downslide of the commodity's prices in retail markets.

With fresh arrivals in the market, Nafed plans to sell onions at Rs 12 per kg from November 3. Nafed, the designated procurement agency, through its outlets and mobile van services, is currently selling onions at Rs 14 per kg.

The arrivals at Azadpur market are reported to be 13,600 quintals with a model rate of Rs 775 per quintal, said a Nafed statement. Moreover, it has brought 800-tonne onions to Delhi from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
