Shanthi Gears signs supply pacts with GE, Atlas Copco

COIMBATORE-based Shanthi Gears Ltd (SGL), a prominent manufacturer of industrial gears, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with General Electric for the supply of speciality marine gear boxes.

It has also entered into a supply agreement with Atlas Copco for the supply of high precision hardened and ground gears.

In a notification to the NSE, SGL has said that it has entered into a MoU with General Electric Company through its GE Transportation - Aircraft Engines Business Component (GET), a New York Corporation for the manufacture of speciality marine gear boxes for certain critical applications.

SGL has also entered into a supply agreement with Atlas Copco Airpower NV, Belgium for the manufacture and supply of high precision hardened and ground gears as OE for their global requirements.

The company has opened an office at Moenchengladbach, Germany to provide better service and support and to enhance business from the European market.
