TAJ Hotels Resorts and Palaces is sprucing up its business hotels while planning to add a few more hotels in the category as part of the company's strategy to brace itself for meeting the competition expected to grow from the international brands focusing on India.

The group would be rolling out enhanced product offerings in Taj Residency, Bangalore, tomorrow and similar efforts are under way in Chennai and other cities.

Setting a precedent for top-end business hotels in the city, the Taj Residency has been refurbished to meet the changing needs and lifestyles of its guests.

Addressing a press conference here on the eve of the launch of the new-look Taj Residency, Ms Jyoti Narang, Chief Operating Officer, Taj Business Hotels, said under the new `Spirit of Change' being rolled out across the Taj Business Hotels, the Taj Residency here was the first property to undergo the makeover.

The total investment on the renovation was Rs 30 crore, she said. The Taj Business Hotels added a new hotel to its bouquet with the launch of Taj Chandigarh in June.

It is developing a new business hotel in Coimbatore. A few are being planned in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and one more in Bangalore, said company sources.
