Power SEEM sets up award for energy efficiency Our Bureau
Thiruvananthapuram , Nov. 4 THE Society of Energy Engineers and Managers (SEEM), a professional body of energy auditors and managers, has launched an initiative to recognise Certified Energy Managers (CEM) and Certified Energy Auditors (CEA) on behalf of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Union Ministry of Power. The `Urja Award - 2005' also comprises consolation prizes for implementing/ propagating/ innovating energy efficiency, said Mr R. Harikumar, Convenor, SEEM. CEMs and CEAs working in industries as designated energy managers or otherwise, or in other establishments including consultancy and energy auditing firms are eligible to apply. There is no standard format for application, but it should ideally contain all contact details and affiliation, vividly describing the achievements with relevant proof and duly authenticated by the Chief Executive of the institution. Harikumar, Convenor - SEEM National Award 2005, Society of Energy Engineers and Managers, No. 1 B, Vidyaniketan, Sreekanteswaram, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 023 (Telephone 94471 - 60027) latest by December 5. As the applications would be sent to the judging committee members by e-mail, the soft copy sent to the above mentioned address should contain all information the candidate would like to present. Activities undertaken during the qualifying period from April 2004 to March 2005 would be considered for the purpose of evaluating the applications. The application should also have (a) an organisation profile along with the relevant energy figures such as details on annual fuel bill, power bill and specific energy consumption (b) a brief profile of the applicant and (c) a passport size photograph (both soft & hard copies). The award carries a citation, certificate of merit and a cash component. The names of winners will be announced during the National Energy Conservation Week from December 14-21.
