Blood collection monitor launched in Chennai

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Union Minister for Health, Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, launched the Composafe blood collection monitor manufactured by Thiruvananthapuram-based Terumo Penpol at a function in Chennai.

A Terumo Penpol spokesperson said here that the blood collection monitor is used for the gentle and uniform mixing of whole blood with the pre-fill solution during collection and to ensure that only the correct amount of blood is collected in the bag.

This ensures safety to the donor, user and the recipient. It also helps prevent hazards from electrical shock fire and ward off mechanical and electro magnetic interferences.

By uniformly mixing blood with the anti coagulant solution during collection, it ensures that only the correct amount of blood is collected, reducing the chance of clot formation.
