Hatching profits

A worker stacking trays of eggs at a godown in Kerala's Kochi city. The domestic poultry sector has taken advantage of the fear of the avian flu to increase export of table eggs. Exports till September registered a 25 per cent rise with average monthly egg shipments up at 66.5 million units. Besides, the sector now has more to cheer in the form of Japan permitting poultry imports from India.
