Shaw Wallace Distilleries redeems 5% pref shares of McDowell

MCDOWELL & Company Ltd has informed the BSE that Shaw Wallace Distilleries has redeemed its 5 per cent non-cumulative non-convertible redeemable preference shares.

At the EGM of the company on Monday, the board has passed a resolution to issue debentures or bonds and/or securities linked to equity shares for an amount not exceeding $250 million.

It has also passed a resolution to increase the authorised share capital of the company from Rs 60 crore to Rs 120 crore only instead of Rs 170 crore.

The increase in authorised capital was proposed to facilitate issue of securities as well as issue of equity shares/preference shares pursuant to the scheme of arrangement approved by the board of directors on September 22, which is subject to the approval of the High Courts and other regulatory authorities.
