SKS (Ship) Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 69 lakh in the quarter ended September 30, marginally up on the Rs 68 lakh posted in the corresponding quarter in the last fiscal.

Income from operations during the quarter under review increased by 32 per cent to Rs 8.31 crore, as compared to Rs 6.29 crore recorded in the same quarter of the previous year.

Net profit in the first-half ended September 30, stood at Rs 1.48 crore against Rs 2.57 crore posted in the corresponding six-month period last year.

The company, which is setting up a Rs 10-crore dry dock in Mumbai, plans to emerge as a full-fledged shipping company from being a barge operator. It plans to augment its fleet, consolidate operations, and take advantage of the opportunities due to a high freight rate and tonnage tax opportunities.
