Co-op Week celebrations at Kottayam on Nov 14

Our Bureau

KOTTAYAM: The 52nd All India Cooperative Week will be inaugurated here at the state-level on November 14. A variety of programmes, including a seminar, procession, delegates conference, public meeting and so on will mark the event. Mr Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister, will inaugurate the state-level conference.

The cooperative sector reaches out to those adversely affected by globalisation, liberalisation etc. It strives to bring them to the mainstream, the organisers said.

The state-level conference is expected to help find solutions to the challenges faced by the cooperative movement, they added.

State Ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, and officials of the Cooperative Department will address different sessions, said Mr K.J. Philip Kuzhikulam, chairman of the reception committee and president of Kottayam Cooperative Bank.
