Will it fetch the right price?

G.R.N. Somashekar

A farmer checks ragi crop at his farm outskirts of Bangalore on Wednesday. The State Government is ready for market intervention to come to the aid of distressed farmers if the prices of food grain crash and plummet to below the minimum support price (MSP).

The MSP per quintal of paddy was fixed at Rs 570 for the general grade quality and for ragi and jowar at Rs 525 and Rs 545 respectively while it was fixed at Rs 540 per quintal for maize.
