Strategy Sahara One to offer women-centric shows in prime time slot Our Bureau
Mumbai , Nov. 9 SAHARA ONE Television is going to focus on woman-centric programming on prime time. Speaking to Business Line, Mr Purnendu Bose, Chief Operating Officer, Sahara One, said that the channel found a clear gap, as most of the channels in the general entertainment channels focused on kitchen politics and had nothing on offer for the modern day woman. "Indian women are out of kitchen politics now. They have started competing with men," he said. The channel's newest offering would be Kituu... Sab Jaannti Hai from November 14 in the 9.30 p.m. time slot. The show is supposed to be about a middle-class girl, who eventually becomes a spirited journalist. The other women-centric fictions, which the channel has launched over the past few months, are Woh Rehne Waali Mahlon Ki and Hare Kkaanch ki Choodiyan. "Woh Rehne Waali Mahlon Ki is already among the top 100 TV shows," said Mr Bose. He claimed that the channel has grown by almost 35 per cent in GRP terms, and its focus on modern Indian women has worked quite well. In the non-fiction segment, the channel is shortly going to launch a new game show, Mission Ek Crore, which would be anchored by actor Sanjay Dutt.
