BHEL bags Rs 130-cr IOC order

Our Correspondent

MADURAI: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), Tiruchi, has secured an order worth over Rs 130 crore from Indian Oil Corporation for setting up a frame-5 co-generation power plant at its Haldia refinery complex on a turnkey basis.

The project, scheduled for commissioning in 22 months, would meet the requirement of uninterrupted power supply, in addition to the steam needs of the refinery. The work includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of a frame-5 gas turbine generator and a heat recovery system generator of 130 tonnes an hour capacity.

While the gas turbine generator will be manufactured at BHEL's Hyderabad unit, the heat recovery steam generator and control system will be manufactured at the Tiruchi unit and the electronics division at Bangalore, respectively, a BHEL press release said.
