Purity FG meets international standards laid down by the US and European Union, the Chairman, Cetex Petrochemicals, Mr S. Pattu, said while launching the products at FoodPro 2005, a food processing exhibition. (Purity FG is a product of Petro-Canada, with which Cetex has a marketing agreement.) Indian food processors who plan to export to developed countries will have to use such products soon. Indian legislations also mandate the use of food grade lubricants in units manufacturing food and pharma products. Cetex has launched Purity FG to tap the emerging market, following the growth in demand for processed foods. Use of non-contaminating and non-toxic lubricants would soon become mandatory, Mr Pattu said. Mr Steven D. Moore, Senior Technical Services Advisor, Petro-Canada, said the product meets the standards laid down in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulatory systems in the US and Good Manufacturing Practices of European Union. It also meets the standards of ISO 22000, which integrates such international standards. Purity FG synthetic food machinery grease is recommended as a multipurpose lubricant across all food processing applications, including mixing, cooking, stirring, baking, frying, packaging, canning and bottling. It is effective under food plant applications running under heavy loads and extreme temperature.
