The Hindu Business Line : Jain Irrigation gets Rs 55-cr US order

MUMBAI: Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd has announced that its Plastic Sheet Division has received an order worth $12 million (Rs 55 crore) from two of its customers in American market.

These orders are for a newly developed wood grain plastic sheet product by the division.

"The company over the past 24 months has concentrated its efforts in the building materials segment and has gained a fair share of this market. The plastic sheets used in this industry at present is a meagre 3 per cent but continues to show a rapid growth,'' the company said in a news release.

Jain Irrigation expects to execute these orders in the current fiscal.

Building and construction market continues to be bullish and value-added products continue to have good growth demand, the company said.

Jain Irrigation shares moved up by Rs 9.10 to Rs 156.60 on the BSE on Friday.
