Software Synechron launches software centre in Pune Our Bureau
Pune , Nov. 13 SYNECHRON, formerly known as Fusion Infotech, has inaugurated its 1,000-seater software development centre in Pune. Talking to newspersons, Mr Faisal Husain, Chief Executive Officer of Synechron, said the centre, spanning over 65,000 sq ft, has a design studio for a 50-member creative services team, testing labs and client centres. The company, which presently has six offices spread out in Pune, would be shifted to the new location soon. The strength of software professionals had grown to more than 400 by 2005 and is expected to touch 550 by March 2006. The company, which had recorded a turnover of $8 million for the fiscal ended March 2005, is looking at a turnover of $20 million this fiscal. Mr Husain said growth would come from the mortgage industry, the Internet and the capital market. The factors responsible for high growth in the mortgage industry was the housing boom in the US, as most of the survivors of the dot-com bust had invested in various ventures, he pointed out. Synechron has also recently launched its knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) division, which has a strength of 30 employees. The company was looking at more than 100 professionals in this segment. Mr Husain said the new division will also offer its partners the advantage of leveraging the services of the strategic development centre (SDC), which is a secure enterprise-class unit with its own team. This would function seamlessly as an extended arm. Currently, five clients use the SDC. On the future plans, Mr Husain said that the company's growth clearly lies in expanding domain leadership in focus areas such as banking, finance and 2D and 3D creative services. In the 3D segment, Synechron is currently having clients in the consumer electronics and automobile industry. It is also looking at the gaming and animation industry. The company plans to to expand its operations in the US in the next one year by establishing branch offices at Chicago, Seattle and Nashville, said Mr Husain. This would increase its presence to nine offices worldwide. Also on the anvil are plans to reinforce quality and process competencies with CMMI level 5 certification scheduled for early 2006. Synechron was founded in the US in 2001 by Mr Husain, Mr Tanveer Saulat (Managing Director, India Operations) and Mr Richard Zaziski, Chief Executive Officer of FYI Systems Inc, without any venture capital funding.
