PSU disinvestment

This is with reference to the report "Government weighs divestment in profit-making PSUs" (Business Line, November 10). With the "Left open to talks on small stake sale in non-Navratna PSUs" there is hope yet that a consensus might be reached on the issue.

In the light of the above, the setting up of a National Investment Fund (NIF) to be funded by the proceeds from divestment for use in various social sector projects assumes significance.
