Announcements Elecon, Tecpro bag Reliance Energy order Our Bureau
Mumbai , Nov. 15 ELECON Engineering Company Ltd of Gujarat and Tecpro Systems Pvt Ltd of Chennai will supply the coal handling facility for Reliance Energy Ltd, the EPC contractor for Haryana State Electricity Board's Yamunanagar power plant. The contract, to be executed on a turnkey basis, is to be completed in 18 months. The value of the order is Rs 86.5 crore. Of this, the order value to Elecon Engineering is Rs 31 crore. According to an Elecon release, the work allotted to Elecon includes delivery of two wagon tipplers, one stacker-cum-reclaimer and crushing and screening equipment. Tecpro will execute the rest of the facility, including conveyor belts. This will be the 75th coal handling plant supplied by Elecon, the highest by any company in India. Elecon has also successfully supplied most of the coal handling plants for thermal power stations in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The Yamunanagar thermal power project, expected to be Reliance Energy's first coal-based plant, is scheduled for commissioning in 2007.
