Bangalore , Nov. 15

NETWORKING products and services company 3Com India will be doubling its headcount in the next two months at its Hyderabad unit.

At present, there are 80 engineers at the development centre who work on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). "We plan to invest further in a spares centre to provide better service that will give us a competitive advantage and increase our focus on the development centre by hiring more engineers," said Mr Sanjay Manohar, Country Manager, 3Com India, at the launch of TippingPoint X505, an intrusion prevention system (IPS).

The X505 combines a firewall, Web virtual private network, bandwidth management, content filtering and dynamic routing. It is capable of handling speeds of 5GBps without failing. Layer 2 fallback has been enabled, which means the device will continue to work even when power fails.
