HLL studies market for men's fairness cream

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI: Hindustan Lever Ltd is exploring the possibility of introducing a fairness cream for men in India.

Terming Emami's recent launch in this segment - Fair and Handsome — as "interesting," Mr Ashok Venkatramani, Vice-President - Skin Care, HLL, said HLL is currently studying the market. Stressing that HLL's own fairness cream, Fair and Lovely, is also used by men, he said the usage is still in the closet but nevertheless very much present.

HLL's premium skin care range of 12 facial products, branded as Perfect Radiance, is currently being distributed in around 20 townships, said Mr Venkatramani. He added that HLL would expand the reach of this product range to other metro cities and large towns. Mr Venkatramani was speaking on the sidelines of a conference announcing the recipients of its Project Saraswati Scholarship initiative, which provides education scholarships to women.
