Navigation body meet held in Kochi

THE annual general meeting of the International Navigation Association - Permanent International Association for Navigation Congress (INA-PIANC) was held at Kochi port on Tuesday. The Chairman of the Indian National Section, Mr A.K. Bhalla, who is also the Joint Secretary (Ports), Shipping Ministry, presided over the meeting. The main agenda items covered among others included, holding of annual general assembly of INA-PIANC in April 2007 in Kochi.

The INA-PIANC is an international technical and scientific organisation to deal with inland and maritime navigation. Ithas got its headquarters at Brussels. The Indian Government is a permanent member country and Mr Bhalla is the Chief Delegate of the Government. This international body has got an Indian National Section, according to a press release issued here.
