Bangalore , Nov. 16

The four-day 2005, the Free and Open Source Software event, to be held in Bangalore starting from November 29 will bring together participants from across the globe.

Open source implies that the code of the software or operating system is available to developers on the Internet to copy, modify and redistribute without paying royalties or fees.

Software coders from across the globe have contributed to the development of open source software that is available on the Internet for download. 2005 will feature sessions and discussions on open source technologies besides Linux and FOSS on non-FOSS platforms as well as open source in education and culture.
